Eric Brooks is born after his mother is attacked by a vampire during childbirth, leaving him with unusual resistance to vampirism and many advantages against the undead. Devoting his life to hunting vampires, Blade combines specialised weapons, combat training and supernatural abilities, operating on the darker edge of Marvel's world as a relentless protector against occult threats.
