The story of Doctor Octopus
Dr. Otto Octavius was a gifted nuclear physicist who designed a harness fitted with four mechanical arms to safely manipulate hazardous materials. A laboratory accident exposed him to radiation and permanently fused the apparatus to his body, while also allowing him to control the mechanical arms mentally. Adopting the name Doctor Octopus, Octavius became one of Spider-Man’s most formidable adversaries. His combination of scientific genius and mechanical strength has repeatedly brought him into conflict with Peter Parker, including the extraordinary body-swap storyline that ultimately led to Otto becoming the Superior Spider-Man.
