Robin begins with Dick Grayson, a young circus acrobat whose parents are murdered and who is taken in by Bruce Wayne. Recognising both Dick's potential and his pain, Batman trains him as his partner, Robin. The identity later becomes a legacy carried by Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown and Damian Wayne, each changing what Batman's partner means.
