Wonder Woman is Diana of Themyscira, the Amazon champion created by William Moulton Marston and artist H. G. Peter in 1941. Her stories combine mythology, diplomacy and super-heroism, while her modern films place her within both historical adventures and DC’s shared-universe events.

Diana is an Amazon princess raised on the hidden island of Themyscira among a society of warrior women. Her exact birth has changed across DC continuities, but she is traditionally shaped from clay and granted life by the gods, while later versions make her a daughter of Zeus. Leaving Themyscira, Diana becomes Wonder Woman, an ambassador and champion dedicated to peace, truth and justice.
