Blue Beetle is best approached as a screen interpretation of the character’s foundations rather than a panel-for-panel adaptation. Start with Infinite Crisis #3–5, then compare it with Blue Beetle #1–6 (2006) and Blue Beetle #0–4 (2011). Reading the references alongside the movie makes it easier to see what the filmmakers retained, combined or reinvented for the screen.
