Swamp Thing draws together recognisable comic-story material and reshapes it for a self-contained feature-film narrative. Start with Swamp Thing #1–10 (1972), then compare it with House of Secrets #92. Reading the references alongside the movie makes it easier to see what the filmmakers retained, combined or reinvented for the screen.
