Character origin
Origin story
Professor Xavier creates the New Mutants as a younger generation of students who need guidance in understanding and controlling their mutant abilities. The original group brings together teenagers from different countries and backgrounds, including Cannonball, Karma, Mirage, Sunspot and Wolfsbane. Though intended as students rather than soldiers, they are repeatedly drawn into dangers that force them to mature as heroes.
