Wanda Maximoff first enters Marvel's superhero world alongside her twin brother Pietro as a reluctant member of Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. The twins soon leave and Wanda joins the Avengers, where she develops from an uncertain young mutant into the Scarlet Witch, one of the team's most powerful members. Her probability-altering hex abilities later evolve into formidable chaos magic, while revelations about her family and past repeatedly reshape her identity.
