Spider-Man is the Marvel hero most closely identified with Peter Parker, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962. His wall-crawling powers, web-slinging, personal responsibility and New York setting have supported several separate film continuities, including the Raimi films, The Amazing Spider-Man series and the MCU incarnation.

Teenager Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider and develops extraordinary strength, agility and the ability to cling to walls. Initially using his powers for personal gain, Peter fails to stop a criminal who later kills his beloved Uncle Ben. The loss teaches him that power brings responsibility, shaping his decision to protect others as Spider-Man.
