Iron Man 2 combines ideas from more than one period of the comics, so its source material is better read as a group than as one direct adaptation. Start with Iron Man #120–128 (Demon in a Bottle), then compare it with #225–232 (Armor Wars) and Tales of Suspense #97–99. Reading the references alongside the movie makes it easier to see what the filmmakers retained, combined or reinvented for the screen.
