Captain America: Brave New World combines ideas from more than one period of the comics, so its source material is better read as a group than as one direct adaptation. Start with Captain America #25 (2014), then compare it with All-New Captain America #1–6 and Hulk #1–6 (2008). Reading the references alongside the movie makes it easier to see what the filmmakers retained, combined or reinvented for the screen.
