The Amazing Spider-Man – #402 – 1995 – Marvel Comics – Clone Saga / Crossfire Part 1

Description

The Amazing Spider-Man #402, published by Marvel Comics in June 1995. This is the Direct Edition and forms part of the major 1990s Clone Saga, beginning the two-part story “Crossfire.”

Peter Parker is trying to convince Detective Jacob Raven of his innocence while dealing with disturbing concerns surrounding Mary Jane and their unborn child. The mysterious Judas Traveller then forces Spider-Man into an apparent choice involving Aunt May’s soul, setting up the dramatic “Battle for Aunt May’s Soul” advertised on the cover.

Key significance: Part of the Spider-Man Clone Saga and Crossfire Part 1. This isn’t a major first-appearance key, so I wouldn’t oversell its importance; its collector appeal is primarily its Clone Saga connection, classic Mark Bagley-era Spider-Man artwork and the Aunt May/Judas Traveller storyline.
