Morbius is best approached as a screen interpretation of the character’s foundations rather than a panel-for-panel adaptation. Start with The Amazing Spider-Man #101–102, then compare it with Adventure into Fear #20–31 and Morbius #1–9 (1992). Reading the references alongside the movie makes it easier to see what the filmmakers retained, combined or reinvented for the screen.
