X-Men Origins: Wolverine draws together recognisable comic-story material and reshapes it for a self-contained feature-film narrative. Start with Origin #1–6, then compare it with Weapon X (Marvel Comics Presents #72–84) and Wolverine #10. Reading the references alongside the movie makes it easier to see what the filmmakers retained, combined or reinvented for the screen.
